Ameline Tangen Sørgen (she/they) is born on the 8th August 1998. They are from Gjøvik in Norway, and now share their time between Oslo and London. They currently work as a mental health practitioner in communal healthcare, and freelance as an actor, director, producer playwright and educator. For the coming year, they are particularly interested in acting and directing opportunities; whereas she's got the most experience in musical theatre, improv, devising and new-writings. The overarching goals for their own projects in coming year includes working more internationally and in the intersection of mental health and the creative arts. They have always been curious of people and their ways, which is clearly reflected in their work. Their art is often absurd, queer, explorative and mental health-related. They love pushing the limits of what people believe art and health to be! As a person, they are enthusiastic, people-oriented and hard-working. People describe them as structured, adaptive, empathethic, driven; a natural leader who's always up for a good challenge!
They hold a MSc in Creative Arts and Mental Health from Queen Mary University of London (2022-2023), a trade-certificate in Musical Theatre, that specialised in Acting, from Bårdar Akademiet (2020-2022), and a BSc in Psychology from Inland University (2017-2020). They have previously completed the IB program in their 6th form. In the fall of 2025 they´ll also be certified as a project manager through METIER online schooling.
Through years of service jobs and multiple psychosocial and political volunteer positions, they now work full-time freelancing as an actor, director and mental health practitioner. Since 2019 they´ve worked in norwegian communal healthcare services with user-participation, psychiatry and drug-abuse. In 2021, they became self-employed as they founded AMÉSO. They are a proud member of the theatre companies HellSprell and RASA. Amongst their bigger credits: they performed in DEMOKRATISKE DRØMMER (2021, 2023, 2025), directed SLUTT Å FJÅS: UKEREVYEN I ÅS 2024 (2023-2024), wrote and performed I´M INDECISIVE, RIGHT? (2024), and wrote, directed and produced the shortfilm SKRÅBLIKK (2024). For the future, they hope to keep creating connections and challenging themselves whilst making impactful and challenging theatre for others.
