INTRODUCTION

Ameline Tangen Sørgen (she/they) is born on the 8th August 1998. They´re from the small town Gjøvik
in Norway, and currently share their time between Oslo and London. Now they work as a mental health practitioner in communal healthcare, and freelance as an actor, director, producer and playwright. Their current goals include working more internationally and in the intersection of mental health and creative arts.
They have have always been curious of people and their ways, which drove them to study psychology, theatre and their interconnectivity. Their art is often absurd, queer, explorative and mental health-related. They love pushing the limits of what people believe art and health can be; and are always up for a challenge!

They hold a MSc in Creative Arts and Mental Health from Queen Mary University of London (2022-2023), a trade-certificate in Musical Theatre, that specialised in Acting, from Bårdar Akademiet (2020-2022), and a BSc in Psychology from Inland University College (2017-2020). They have previously completed the IB program in 6th form. In the spring of 2025 they´ll be certified as a project manager through METIER online schooling.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Through years of service-related part-time jobs and multiple psychosocial and political volunteer positions, they now work full-time freelancing in the cultural and healthcare sectors. Since 2019 they´ve worked as a mental health pracitioner, with user-participation, psychiatry and drug-abuse in the norwegian communal healthcare services. In 2021, they established AMÉSO to be a self-employed actor, director, producer, writer and private educator. As an artist, they mainly hold experiences in musical theatre, acting and improv. They are a proud member of the theatre companies HellSprell and RASA. For the future, they hope to keep creating connections and challenging themselves whilst making impactful, current and challenging theatre.
